Our 3-year project 'Colloidal Organization Reconfigured by LIGHT-driven thermal Marangoni flows' will be funded by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR). The research team is composed of Manos (principal investigator), Jan Lagerwall (host and local mentor, Univ. of Luxembourg) and Jan Dhont (Forschungszentrum Juelich).

Happy e-birthday!

Today, 10.07.2015, is the birthdate of anyfas.com. Since this is my first attempt of this kind, please excuse me for the inevitable mistakes/ommitances. 

As a 'real newborn', this website has just seen the sunlight of the electronic world. It is expected that through its first internet steps and by vibrant interaction with its environment, anyfas.com will slowly build its character and will -hopefully- get more mature.


And my new 'scientific home' is...the University of Luxembourg!

After having spent about 3 years in Germany and 4 years in France for carrying out research, I decided to move at the interface of these two interesting and quite different countries. My new 'scientific home' will be the group of Prof. Jan Lagerwall at the Physics & Materials Science Research Unit of the University of Luxembourg, where I will introduce myself to the exciting world of Liquid Crystals. Like all interfaces, Luxembourg is very small, however, all interesting phenomena take place exactly here!  

Our  study on the effect of surfactants in dynamic dewetting is published in Soft Matter!

Invited talk about liquid crystal liquid marbles in Guangzhou (SLCP 2019)

I just came back from Gunagzhou, China, where I was invited to deliver a talk about colorful liquid marbles made of cholesteric liquid crystals. It was a very high quality conference on photonics and an overall fantastic (first time!) experience in China!
